Description
Fazenda Palmital has been owned by Guy Carvalho for over twenty years, and has been in the family for one hundred years this year. The farm is located in the coffee-growing district of Cabo Verde, in a region that presents ideal conditions for coffee production. With an average altitude of 950 meters and a climate with well defined seasons, low humidity and favourable temperatures. Fazenda Palmital, is located in the mountains of the Serra So Pau S’Alho in the district of Cabo Verde.
The entire farm is handpicked due to the altitude and character of the land, and they have several animals including monkeys, snakes, wild cats, spiders, birds, anteaters, toucans, jaguar, horses and chickens present in the fields. Coffee is harvested during the peak of the season and pulped to remove the outer layer of the fruit. After pulping the coffee is laid out to dry on concrete patios and turned regularly to ensure even drying.
